A Bespoke Manufacturer

Whilst we do stock thousands of standard moulds for components such as Cills and heads , we are  a bespoke manufacturer making new and exciting stonework for new projects and developments . With so much experience we are able to undertake the most challenging of projects . One of the first decisions to make is whether you would like to use Wet Cast or Semi-Dry cast stone . Whether you choose to use Wet cast or Semi Dry is very much an individual decision .

Wet Cast Production

The manufacturing process for Wet Cast stone uses a much higher water content than Semi-Dry which results in a denser and smoother, closer  finish . Wet Casting is a labour intensive process which is reflected in the lead times for our bespoke products . Wet Cast stone can be handled in a similar way to concrete and will typically weather much better for longer than semi-dry .

Semi Dry Production

As the name suggests the semi-dry method of production uses less water than West Cast . We take our specially sourced aggregates and make a mix which is compressed into either wooden or resin moulds . Once the compaction is completed the units are demoulded and finished by hand to ensure the product meets our specified quality and appearance . The stone is then left in our specially made curing chambers to ensure the stone reaches its optimum strength in a controlled environment . The Semi-dry stone should be handled as one would with natural stone . It has a slightly open texture similar to that of Bathstone or Portland and as a result it weathers in a similar manner .
